Fall Courses

• Register for Fall semester classes through your counselor at the ASD neighborhood, charter or alternative school you attend. 
• Registrations for current high school students will be accepted for original course attempts on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Core classes require semester 1 is taken online in order to take the class semester 2.   Midyear jumps from face to face classes are not allowed. 
• Courses are subject to consolidation or cancelation due to low enrollment 
• The last date to add or drop a class is 8/29. 
• Drops after the two-week grace period will result in a WF posted to the high school transcript. 

NO LOGIN EMAIL WILL BE SENT.   Courses will be found on your Canvas Homepage.

Take time to review the  Online Orientation  which contains useful information on AKChoice Virtual policies and expectations as well as navigation tips for virtual classes.  It will also provide the answers to the Orientation quiz, which is mandatory in most of our classes. 

• Most core classes are NCAA approved. 
• Courses follow a semester-long pacing guide.  Work submitted two-weeks late is subject to a 10% per week point deduction. Students receive 0 credit after 11 weeks.  
• All unit and final exams require the use of the Respondus Lockdown Browser
• All assignments must be completed in Google Docs and the link shared with your teacher 

• Log in daily to your online class. 
• Use Chrome as Internet browser
• Maintain an accurate, unique student email address in Q
• Communicate weekly with class instructor(s)
• Devote daily time to virtual classwork & avoid procrastination.
• AKChoice Virtual Late Policy: deducts points from late assignments starting two weeks after a due date.
• Login to teacher Zooms and ask questions.
• Follow AI guidelines closely
• Follow the prescribed pacing guide closely
• Notify instructor of absences or planned vacations
